Agile Testing, A Whole-Team Approach

Software testing does not solely fall on the shoulders of the QA team members within an Agile team.  Testing is a whole-team mind-set that extends beyond detecting and correcting defects within in a Sprint to include verification (are we building it right), and validation (are we building the right thing). Incorporating test case design into the story grooming process drives out ambiguity and creates greater understanding of the customer’s needs.  It requires effective testing at the unit and functional level to ensure each building block of the code functions as needed so that customer value is realized.

This webinar covers the whole-team techniques needed to help prevent defects from occurring, and rapidly detecting and correcting defects for those that do make it into the software.  Some of the topics that will be covered during the allotted time are:

  • What is different in Agile testing?
  • Why do testers love Agile testing?
  • How do we shorten the feedback loop?
  • How do we speed up testing? (Unit testing, Acceptance testing, UI testing)
  • Why do we care about static analysis and code metrics?
  • When do we run these tests and inspections?
  • If we automate testing, what are our testers going to do? (Acceptance testing, Exploratory testing, Critiquing the product)

This event takes place at 12:00 PM EST on Thursday June 5, 2014 and is hosted by Davisbase Technical Coach & Trainer, Jason Andersen.  Sign up now!
